Emma & Mamie Chrisman (Hartley)
In 1840, the land upon which Old Brick Inn sits was part of the original land grant of Abraham Smith. Before he left for Oregon in the 1850's, he sold the land to John Chrisman.

This home was built, by Elisha W. Hartley, between 1886 and 1889 for his wife, Mamie Chrisman, great niece of the town's founding father, Mathias Chrisman.

As our guest, you may expect 21st Century Conveniences with 19th Century Elegance

It stood empty from the early 1970's until 2003.

Architects who have stayed at the Inn have supported the thought that it is a "Prairie Foursquare", designed by the Chicago Architect Group which, included Frank Lloyd Wright. Large, oak-paneled foyer, art glass windows, staircase and abundance of oak artwork reflect the design of this period.

Rates at the inn vary from $55 to $85 (+Tax @ 10.64%) per night, depending on the room. The cost for each room is based on 2 person occupancy. Extra persons are $10 per night (adjusted to length of stay).

A full breakfast is offered each day between 6 - 9:30am. We serve everything from bagels to Belgian Waffles, from crepes to casseroles, from muffins to "man-sized" breakfasts.

Check-in every day is at 2:00pm. Morning check-out is at 11:30 AM. Late stays can be arranged.

Joy Stewart - Innkeeper.
